Provenance

The artist; gift to Frederick R. Weisman [1912-1994], Los Angeles;[1] acquired 1979 by Marcia S. Weisman [1918-1991], Los Angeles;[2] gift (partial and promised) 1990 to NGA; gift completed 1993.
[1] In interviews pubished in the catalogue of a 1983 exhibition that included the painting, both Frederick and Marcia Weisman recounted the story of the gift.
