The image depicts a group of seven people. Some are visible from the waist up, while others are shown fully or partially. The central figure, a seated woman holding a nude infant, has her head tilted downwards, with long hair that appears tied back. The infant is being supported by another woman who stands to the left, while a smaller child reaches up to the infant. Both women have calm expressions and hair pinned back neatly. The figures wear loose, flowing garments with draped fabric. An adult man to the right, shown in profile, seems to clasp a staff, while another adult stands behind, slightly bowed. In the upper left corner, a cherub or small angel with outstretched arms flies horizontally, partially obscured by shadows. The background is filled with dark, thick strokes that suggest foliage or drapery.
