This is a painting of a toucan perched on a branch. The image shows a toucan with a large and curved black beak accentuated by a pale yellow marking near its base. The bird has glossy black plumage along its back and tail, and displays vibrant colors including a bright yellow throat and red markings underneath that transition seamlessly into its black body. Its claws are gripping tightly onto a textured branch, which is dotted with green leaves. The painting captures the bold features of the toucan against a soft, subtle background in the style often associated with John Gould.
