The image depicts two figures partially illuminated against a dark background. One figure is holding a lantern, casting light in the surrounding area. The second figure, partially veiled, is seated on a donkey beside the first figure. The surroundings are engulfed in deep shadows, with intricate cross-hatching adding texture to the scene. The background is largely featureless.
