The rider is seated on the horse, facing slightly to the right, with one hand holding the reins and the other holding a sword in a scabbard. The person has distinct facial features with a pointed mustache and dark hair partially covered by a turban. They are dressed in what appears to be a uniform with a long-sleeved coat and pants, complete with a sash and ornamental design on the chest. Around the neck of the horse is a decorative strap with a geometric pendant. The paper is textured blue-grey, with a grid pattern drawn over it. The background features minimalistic lines suggesting a flat landscape, with no distinct objects or scenery behind the rider and horse.
