Artist, British, 1769 - 1859

The image shows a sketch of two men depicted from the waist up. The man on the left is seated with his body turned slightly to the right and his arms crossed. He has curly hair and his facial features, although not detailed, suggest a weathered appearance. He wears a jacket over a shirt with visible buttons. The second man is less detailed and also appears to be seated, turned more directly to the viewer with his arms resting in front of him. He wears similar attire, but his facial and clothing details are not as distinct. Both men’s attire appears to be loose and somewhat casual. In the background, there is no indication of specific surroundings, and the focus is kept on the seated figures with a plain, lightly shaded background.
