The image is a portrait depicting the bust of a man within an ornate oval frame. The man is facing the viewer directly with his torso and head visible. He has shoulder-length wavy hair, a prominent nose, and a mustache. He is dressed in a dark garment with a white collar and visible buttons. The frame surrounding the portrait is ornate with swirling designs and a shield-like emblem at the bottom featuring a fleur-de-lis and a mountain design. Above the portrait, inscribed within the frame are the words "Ætatis 40. 1647." The background of the image is plain. At the bottom of the frame, the name “Wenceslaus Hollar” is displayed.
