He has curly shoulder-length hair, a mustache, and a contemplative expression. He wears 17th-century clothing with a dark-colored garment and a flat white collar. The portrait is framed with ornate scrollwork and a heraldic shield at the bottom featuring two lions and a fleur-de-lis design. The background is plain. The drawing includes the inscription "Etatis 40. 1647."
