The woman has closed eyes and long, dark hair. The baby has closed eyes and appears serene in the woman's arms. Both figures are unclothed, with stark contrast in shading to emphasize their forms. The background is mostly dark with white contrast in a circular motion around the figures. No jewelry or objects are visible in the composition.
