A tree with a wide canopy frames the scene to the right. The horizon is high in the image, with a sky filled with clouds. The lake reflects the sky subtly. The left side of the composition shows hills, cliffs, and buildings that suggest a settlement. The palette is monochromatic with shades of brown and gray. The linework highlights the texture of the landscape.
