Artist, Dutch, 1606 - 1669

This is a drawing of a group gathered around a bed with celestial figures above. The scene depicts a group of figures in elaborate garments surrounding a draped bed. Above them, celestial or ethereal figures appear to be emerging from or descending with clouds or smoke. The detailed line work and use of shading enhance the expression and movement within the composition. The intricate rendering of fabric and texture adds depth and drama to the scene.
