A young man with tanned, peachy skin sits at a table pulling his mouth wide with both hands in this vertical painting. On the far side of a wooden table, he faces us with elbows splayed wide. He has hooked the first finger of each hand into the corners of his mouth to stretch his open lips into a long, goofy line. He has wide-set eyes and a wide nose. His brown hair sticks out from under a tall, fuzzy brown hat, which has a knife secured by the blade in a loop to our left. The man’s iron-gray jacket has coffee-brown sleeves with the white of his shirt showing at the cuffs. A putty-gray jug accented with washes of rust-red and a glass filled with an amber liquid sit on the table before him. Soft light from the upper left gleams white on these smooth surfaces. A dark mass visible under the table is presumably the tops of his legs. The top right corner of his wooden chair is visible over his right shoulder, on our left, and he is set against a dove-gray background. The scene is loosely painted so brushstrokes are especially visible in the man’s face and hands.

This painting displays a landscape with two windmills, one in the center and one in the distance on the right. The windmills are on the other side of a gray body of water that reflects the green and brown surroundings, with the grassy bank closer to us visible at the bottom of the painting. A blue boat is in the water, right below the main windmill. On the right a bridge seems to cross the water, framed by white railing. Two people seem to walk across the bridge towards the central windmill, one adult and one child, both dark silhouettes against the sky. On the left are leafless trees in front of green fields leading into the distance, and there are low reddish-brown buildings around the windmills in the center and on the right. The sky is pale grey, with some areas of light blue peeking through the clouds.

This is a painting of multiple people and horses in a tumultuous setting. There are armored men on horseback interacting with a man in the center who seems have fallen off a horse and on to the ground. The scene conveys movement and action, with contorted forms of both humans and animals. One horse rears into the air, while another leans forward with its back legs raised. At the top of the painting, a person with long hair emerges from the clouds. Rays of white light shine down from the opening in the clouds on to the people and horses.

The painting shows a scene from an elevated point of view. At the bottom of the painting, a group of people walk or ride along a wide dirt path. Several of the people sit in a covered horse-drawn wagon. Two women walk next to the wagon, while a man stops to tie his shoe. To the left of the wagon, two people speak together, one of whom wears a large pack on their back. Many of the people are dressed in bright shades of blue, red, and pink. On the left side of the image, along the dirt path, are two large buildings with orange roofs. Behind the path is a body of water, on top of which float two boats with more people in them. On the other side of the water, trees and buildings line a hill that slopes upwards, continuing far off into the distance. At the bottom of the image, the colors are mostly earthy browns and greens, while the distant landscape is painted in light greens and blues, under a blue sky filled with soft, fluffy clouds.

The image features a cluster of trees with wispy foliage rising into the sky. The horizon is close to the bottom edge, with the tree tops silhouetted against it. The watercolor piece uses fluid brushstrokes and overlapping washes of color. The color palette includes light blues, greens, and earthy tones, creating a tranquil atmosphere. The sky is a pale blend of blue and cream, adding to the dreamy feel of the image.
