Two people look out of side-by-side windows in a brick building in this horizontal black and white photograph. The woman on our left has a double chin and a broad chest. She wears a polka-dotted dress and dark shawl or vest, and she leans forward with one hand on the sill. Her face is partially shadowed by a white window blind. An American flag hanging near this window billows across the right two-thirds of the picture, entirely hiding the second person’s head. That person wears a coat buttoned up to a rounded collar. They hold one hand near their chin and the other by their waist. The flag has eight columns of stars. The work is signed and dated in the white margin below: “1955 HOBOKEN” to the left and “Robert Frank” to the right.

The image shows a ground-level perspective of a grassy landscape. The horizon is located near the top with a line of trees. In the distance, there are rolling hills or mountains. The grass has soft brushstrokes, creating a delicate texture. The scene is in black-and-white, emphasizing contrasts and textures. Closest to the viewer are tall grass and wildflowers, leading the eye to a sparser area with trees and distant hills. A transparent human silhouette is overlaid on the grass, blending with the overall composition.

The image shows a man sitting against a white plastered wall, occupying the lower right portion of the picture. His whole body is visible as he leans back in a wooden chair, with one leg stretched out more than the other. The man’s facial features appear relaxed, with glasses perched on his nose and dark hair combed back. He is dressed in a light-colored jacket over a dark shirt, with light-colored trousers and dark shoes. To the left, a lifeless dog lies on the ground. The setting is an exterior space with a rustic, whitewashed building showing some wear and tear, as evidenced by the peeling wall and rough ground underfoot. There is an open doorway and small window behind the branches. The photograph is titled "Majorca, Spain 1950" and is signed by the photographer in the bottom right corner.

The image shows a beach scene captured from an eye-level point of view. A couple is reclining on a blanket on the sand, surrounded by personal items, with an empty bottle nearby. In the distance is a boardwalk with several trash bins spaced evenly. A wire-framed structure resembling a parachute jump tower rises against the sky. The horizon is high, where the boardwalk meets the sky, leaving most of the visual space to the sandy beach. The photo has a grainy texture typical of older black-and-white photography, imparting a soft and muted tone. The grayscale color palette adds to a subdued and timeless quality.
