The painting depicts a man shown from the waist up, seated and facing forward. He has a sturdy build and is positioned with a relaxed posture. His facial features include a fair complexion, a slightly flushed tone, and a solemn expression, with round cheeks, deep-set eyes, and a strong jawline. His dark hair is short and somewhat tousled, framing his face. He is dressed in formal attire consisting of a dark coat over a white shirt with a high collar, a gray cravat around his neck. His right hand is resting on his lap, holding a cane, and a gold ring is visible on his finger. The background is plain with a muted color, and is set within an oval frame.
