The image is a black-and-white photograph with a circular frame showing a group of people standing on a ledge by a large waterfall. The perspective is from behind the individuals, as they face the waterfall. Mist rises from the water, obscuring the horizon. The people are dressed in period attire and are silhouetted against the water. Vegetation is on the right, and trees line the distant riverbank.

The image shows the upper body and partial side profile of a man standing upright, holding a large American flag that covers much of his body. His facial features are mostly obscured by the flag. He wears a textured hat and a suit jacket over a collared shirt. In the background, there is a decorative stone wall and a wrought iron fence. Additionally, a structure with classical architectural details, such as a sculpted stone head and geometric patterns on the wall, is visible. A partial sign that reads "MISSION" is partially seen in the top right corner.
