This abstract composition features bold, dark lines creating the suggestion of a face superimposed over soft, sweeping brush strokes and shapes that form bird-like figures in flight. The varying shades of grey and blue around the abstract face give the impression of wings and feathers. Below, a series of structured black lines and arcs resemble an architectural facade, with colored rectangles that might be seen as windows.

The image shows bold and curved lines creating the silhouette of a bird-like creature with a long neck and beak. It is set against an orange backdrop. The abstract artwork emphasizes a distinct form with sweeping black shapes resembling wings, while green accents add depth and contrast. The shape of the creature suggests a prehistoric bird or mythical creature, with an elongated beak and detailed eye. Near the bottom, circular forms in black contribute to the composition's balance.

The image features several individuals in a sketch-like style, with most of them shown from the waist up in a group setting. Their facial features are blurred with minimal detail, and their attire appears formal, possibly jackets and ties. Some faces are emphasized by shadows and sketch lines, with indistinct hair. In the lower right, there are vague indications of objects on a table, such as candles and documents. The background shows window panes, suggesting a dimly lit interior space.

Gangster's Funeral

Jack Levine, Atelier Le Blanc et Cie., A. Lublin · 1965 · drypoint and engraving in black on wove paper ·  Accession ID  2008.97.3

The image shows a charcoal drawing of a woman from the waist up, sitting on the edge of a bed in profile. She has straight, dark hair and is wearing a long-sleeved top and a light-colored skirt. Her hands are resting on her lap, and the setting suggests a simple room with minimal furnishings. A folded garment is on the bed to her right, and there is a vertical partition behind her casting a shadow. The background is textured and softly shaded.
