The image is an illustration of High Street from Ninth Street in Philadelphia, viewed from a slightly elevated position. The horizon line is low, accentuated by the alignment of buildings that gradually recede into the distance. The scene includes a line of trees and buildings tapering into the vanishing point. The technique involves fine, linear brushstrokes seen in the detailing of the clouds and building texture. The color palette is subdued with earthy tones dominating, buildings in shades of brown and tan, and a light blue sky with hints of pink and gray. Figures and horse-drawn carts animate the street, including pedestrians and military individuals on horseback. In the distance, the street remains busy, suggesting a lively urban environment.

Two figures are depicted in a full-length portrait. The individual on the left is seated slightly behind the other person, with a hand on the other's shoulder and holding a staff with feathers. They have dark hair styled into a mohawk with red accents and feathers, deep-set eyes, and prominent cheekbones. The person is adorned in ceremonial attire, including a feathered headdress, a cloak, and beadwork, with a large medallion around their neck. In front sits a younger person with dark hair, bead necklaces, a medallion, lighter-colored clothing with beadwork, and red leggings. Both are seated on rocky terrain with surrounding greenery, against a neutral backdrop showcasing the vivid colors and intricate details of their attire.
