Jim Nutt · 1969 · lithograph in black on wove paper ·  Accession ID  2015.115.33

This is a drawing of a series of narrative scenes featuring stylized figures and architectural elements. The image includes two rows of small framed scenes, each depicting shadowy, simplified human figures interacting within an architectural environment. The architecture is illustrated with a minimalistic style, featuring a series of arches and doorways. The figures are engaged in a progression of events indicated by their postures and movements across the consecutive scenes. The color palette is muted with shades of gray, black, and touches of beige, emphasizing the illustrative and narrative aspect of the composition. Small handwritten text accompanies each scene, suggesting an underlying narrative or story that guides the visual progression from left to right.
