This painting shows a young woman seated on a wooden chair, seen from the knees up. Her body is slightly turned to the left, but her head is turned towards us. She has short, curly, blonde hair and a round face with a fair complexion. She has a straight nose, thin eyebrows, and thin pink lips in a neutral expression. She is wearing a white gown with a wide neckline, short sleeves, and blue bows on the shoulders, as well as a brown necklace with a circular golden pendant. In her left hand, she holds a small brown book with green edges, and her other hand rests on a brown table next to her, holding a pink rose. On the same table is a paper with several lines of indistinguishable text on it. The background is dark gray.

This print shows a view of a large basilica. In front of it is a town square that we see from a high vantage point. The basilica, including domes and a clock tower, is visible in the distance. Closet to us, a column on a pedestal is positioned slightly left of center. Other buildings and groups of people are present around the basilica and the column. The print is monochromatic, with dark lines contrasting against the light paper. It is surrounded by a border of off-white paper, and at the bottom are the words "Veduta della Basilica di S. Maria Maggiore."

Against a distant, hazy, verdant forest, a petal-pink and amethyst-purple orchid grows from a mossy branch close to us, to our left, while three jewel-toned hummingbirds gather around a nest to our right in this horizontal painting. Two pale pink, ruffled petals of the orchid flare up and out from the hot-pink, furled center. The lip-like petal below is amethyst purple brushed with pale yellow along its top. Three narrow, pink petals create a triangle behind the center of the bloom. Some of the pale honeydew-green pods and leaves growing from the base of the plant are speckled with brown spots. The orchid grows on a gnarled brown branch painted with daubs of white, burnt orange, goldenrod yellow, and scarlet red along its length, which spans the width of the painting. Three hummingbirds with narrow, pointed beaks tend a nest built further along the branch to the right of the orchid. The largest is perched with its back to us. It has a vibrant green body and a two-pronged, crimson-red tail. Its head is turned up and to our left, looking at the second bird fluttering on a branch across the nest. The second bird’s avocado-green and dusty rose-pink body curves downward from outstretched wings. The third bird is perched on a nearby branch to our left, its head turned to the right to look at the others. Two white eggs are partially visible in the nest, which is shaped like an upside-down cone. The nest is woven with wavy, dangling strands of burnt-orange plant material. The orchid, birds, and nest fill the center of the composition. The scene is brightly lit from upper left. More leafy branches covered with hanging vines rise on either side of the painting. The background is filled with a dense growth of plants and trees, painted with blended shades of muted greens and pinks creating a diffuse, watery haze. The sky takes up the upper third of the composition and is filled with smoke-gray clouds except for a small circle of blue sky peeking through the branches of the tree in the upper right.

The engraving depicts a naked infant sitting in the center with their legs crossed and arms resting on their thighs. A woman leans over the child, with one arm wrapped around the infant and the other under their chin. Another figure, likely female, bends forward nearby in a long gown. Several figures, possibly spirits or muses, observe with distinct expressions. They wear draped attire, leaving their arms and shoulders bare. In the background, a light figure appears above a sheer cloth. The setting is shadowy and cave-like. The artwork includes captions and inscriptions at the bottom.

Many of the woman wear cloths over their heads in similarly colorful shades. The goods that people hold include cloth, meat, fruit, yarn, vegetables, and chairs. The crowd of people is dense, with many overlapping and partially obscuring one another. The background behind the people is a plain beige color.
