Afro-Uruguayan Jazz

Discover the jazz innovations of Uruguayan drummer, educator and composer Gastón Reggio. A graduate of Brazil’s Conservatory of Tatuí, he has studied with drummers Osvaldo Fattoruso and Daniel “Pipi” Piazzolla, performed on over 20 albums and released two of his own titled Do Interiô and Michigan, and leads workshops on Uruguayan and Brazilian rhythms. Based in Raleigh, he is joined on stage by several talented musicians from the area.

Registration is required for all ages 2 and above.

We have a free lottery system so that anyone interested in attending Jazz in the Garden has an equal chance to participate.

Lottery Dates

  • Lottery opens: Monday, June 9, 10:00 a.m.
  • Lottery closes: Friday, June 13, noon
  • Results announced: Monday, June 16, 10:00 a.m.

Concerts may be canceled due to excessive heat or inclement weather. In the event of a cancelation, visitors who have reserved passes will receive an email.
