The image is a sketch of a man sitting on the ground, leaning against a wall. He has one leg extended and the other bent. His torso is turned away while his head is tilted downward. His face is not clearly visible. He is dressed in minimal clothing and is not holding any objects. The background is shaded to represent the wall he is leaning against. The sketch is monochromatic with black ink lines. "Rembrandt f. 1646" is written in the lower left corner.
