This painting depicts a pastoral scene with grassy marshland dotted with several yellow haystacks. A river winds through the flat green landscape, and on the right side a shallow boat sits next to the edge of the water. Cows graze in the background, and on the left side a distant farmhouse is visible. The sky is full of light gray clouds, with white light shining through in some areas.
