The image depicts a man with a beard standing outdoors. He is holding a large cross-staff with one hand resting on his hip. The man is draped in a cloth covering one shoulder and the landscape around him includes rocky terrain, a lion at his feet, trees with intricate branches, a cloudy sky, a skull among tree roots, and a ladder leaning against the skull.
