Artist, British, 1857 - 1945

This image depicts a harbor town scene with small boats on a shallow riverbed or tide-exposed area. Closest to the viewer is a boat filled with nets or bundles. Beyond are buildings, cottages, and larger structures lining a street that disappears into the distance. The horizon is hidden by rooftops and a hill. The artist uses soft, blurred brushstrokes to create an impressionistic feel. The color palette consists of warm sepia tones, with contrast between light and dark adding depth to the scene.
