The image is an upper-body portrait of a man seated in a chair. He is looking directly at the viewer with a slight expression of seriousness. The man has a mustache and neatly arranged hair beneath a cap. He is dressed in formal, historical attire with an ornate robe, wide collar, and braided embellishments on the sleeves. In his right hand, he holds an open book with visible text, on a table covered with a cloth. Beside him on the table, there are closed, leather-bound books stacked. To the left, there is a tall crucifix with an image of Jesus. The background is a plain patterned wall with architectural details, including a carved emblem on the paneling behind him.
