Sculptor, French, 1810 - 1879

The sculpture depicts a slender greyhound-like dog standing in a poised position with one front leg slightly raised and its head turned to the side. The dog appears to be made of a dark, bronzy metal. The base upon which the dog rests is made of green marble with visible white veining. The sculpture portrays the dog with an attention to detail in the depiction of the muscles and slender form.
