Artist, German, 1844 - 1900

The image shows two side profile portraits of elderly individuals facing each other. On the left, a man is depicted from the neck up, wearing a dark cap. His face is marked with lines that suggest age, and his gaze is towards the woman on the right. The right portrait presents a woman also shown from the neck up, with her hair pulled back and partially covered. Like the man, her face displays detailed lines and textures emphasizing her age. She is adorned with an earring and wearing a garment fastened with a bow around her neck. The background is plain with no additional elements behind the faces. Both portraits are signed with the name "W. Geets" and dated 1874.
