Artist, French, 1688 - 1737

The image shows a landscape with a building integrated into the natural surroundings. There are trees and bushes surrounding the structure. The horizon is defined by the tree line and the top of the building. A tower or tall structure is visible. The artist used loose brushstrokes to depict the scene with quick, flowing lines. The color palette is sepia, creating a monochromatic effect. In the foreground, there is a path leading towards the center where the building and trees are situated, all under an open sky.
