This is a painting of a figure on horseback holding a lance against an abstract background. The composition features a dark figure on horseback in the upper left, casting a shadow behind them. The horse and rider appear sculpted from darkness with highlights and textures suggesting form. The right side of the painting has swirling strokes implying motion or energy. Chiaroscuro creates a dramatic and mysterious atmosphere. This is in the style of Odilon Redon.
