The man is wearing a high, pleated ruff collar, a fur-lined coat, and a buttoned garment underneath. He holds a small book in one hand and a realistic mask resembling an animal's head in the other. The background is a plain backdrop. An inscription in Latin is at the top, with additional text at the bottom.
