The image shows a close perspective of a rocky terrain beside a body of water. The horizon is placed about a third of the way down from the top of the image, featuring a subtle line where the water meets the distant land or vegetation. The etching technique used includes fine, dense lines and cross-hatching, creating texture and depth through its monochromatic, linear style. The color palette is restricted to shades of gray and black on a tan background. Close to us, there is a detailed etching of the rocky surface and sparse foliage in the foreground leading towards the water beyond.
