Artist, American, 1834 - 1903

This print shows a nude woman sitting on a flat surface and facing the left, with her legs crossed. Her head is bent downward to look at something she holds in her hands, which may be a book or a stack of papers. She has pale skin and dark, curly hair tucked into a light bandana or cloth. Behind her on the flat surface are several indistinct objects, and there are some other square shapes on the left side of the print. The print is created with faint gray lines on off-white paper and has a sketchy quality similar to a pencil drawing.
