Three men are depicted in the image. The first man lies in a bed, covered up to his neck with a blanket. He wears a loose shirt, a headband, and looks upward. His right arm hangs over the side of the bed near a jug on the floor. Another man stands above him to the left in a uniform with a hat and coat. Beside him to the right, a third man stands dressed in formal attire with a cape and a top hat. The background shows a textured surface with faint outlines of figures. The setting suggests an indoor scene with somber tones in the characters' attire and expressions.
