The image shows a portrait of a man in profile from the chest upwards. He is facing to the right with his head slightly tilted down. The man has a pronounced nose and a strong jawline. His hair is styled in a voluminous, wavy manner typical of the 18th century and is lightly colored and powdered. He is dressed in a dark coat with a high collar and a frilled white cravat. The background consists of cross-hatched lines. No objects or jewelry are visible.
