This is a painting of a fringed shawl with intricate embroidered designs featuring floral and vine motifs. The ends of the shawl are adorned with long, flowing fringes with a delicate knotted pattern along the edges. The shawl is black, with two layers of fringe, and is drawn hanging, as if someone is holding it up. On either side of the shawl, two smaller gray sketches illustrate what the shawl looks like when it is worn, showing it from the front and the back. The background is plain, off-white paper.
