Artist, French, 1813 - 1889

This image shows a riverside scene with a broad expanse of water dominating the foreground. Distant trees and buildings soften the horizon line. A small weir is visible in the distance, cutting across the river. On the right side, there are quaint buildings among trees, some structures slightly rising above the tree line. The scene is rendered in warm sepia tones, typical of early photography, creating a nostalgic atmosphere. The water's surface is smooth and reflective, and there are some indistinct small structures on the grassy area to the left.
