Associated Names
Camille Pissarro

Artist, French, born St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, 1830 - 1903

The drawing depicts an expansive landscape with softly rolling hills stretching into the distance. The horizon is high in the image, marked by a line of distant trees. Clusters of trees can be seen in the distance, beyond a cleared field. In the foreground, there are bare trees on the left and fuller foliage on the right, framing the center. The drawing uses subtle pencil strokes to suggest textures, with a monochromatic color palette of gray shades.
