The image shows multiple people engaged in a scene within a room. A man in a uniform, featuring a dark jacket with gold buttons and a yellow sash, faces two women. The uniform includes a tall black hat adorned with a small emblem and a chin strap. One woman stands directly in front of him, wearing a pale pink dress with puffy sleeves and lace detailing, and a white bonnet, holding his hand. The second woman is standing to the left and slightly behind her, wearing a dress with a white collar and a pink bodice, with her dark hair styled in ringlets framing her face. Beside the women is a pink padded chair, with a small dog resting on the floor nearby and a couple of hats placed on a seat. In the background, an open door reveals two soldiers wearing long grey coats and black boots, with caps matching the style of the uniformed man's. One of these soldiers is bending over as if opening a trunk, while a small child stands near him, wearing a plaid dress. On the wall behind, artwork is displayed, including an oval-shaped painting and another small framed piece. To the left, an open window illuminated by light shows the hint of exterior greenery, and a birdcage is visible on the wall. The room's walls are decorated in a muted green tone, and a richly designed curtain in shades of blue and purple drapes beside the window.
