This print shows a dimly lit street scene. The setting is an urban alley with various individuals seated or standing against the exterior of a building. A streetlamp illuminates the brickwork and cobblestone pathways. At the center of the print, a tall man in a long coat and a top hat stands, his face in shadow. By his feet, a woman and several young children sit or stand around a wooden cart full of objects. Various items such as pots, pans, jugs, and other household goods are visible. Some children sit together under blankets. More people are visible on the left and right, huddled into corners or sitting on benches, surrounded by objects. A sign at the top reads "Harrow Alley."
