The image depicts the upper body of a baby seated in a chair. The baby has soft facial features, is wearing a bonnet and a long-sleeved garment. One arm is resting on a surface, while the other arm is relaxed at their side. Surrounding the baby are decorative borders with text "zu Weihnachten 1842" and "Eduard". The background is simple, with the focus on the baby.
