Artist, Italian, 1781 - 1835

This is a drawing of two warriors preparing to strike each other with weapons. The image depicts two muscular figures, one on each side of a central, kneeling figure. Both warriors are in dynamic poses, one wielding a sword raised high and the other holding a long spear. They are both adorned with helmets, with plumed designs, and are minimally clothed. The central figure appears to be in distress, kneeling with arms outstretched. Below them lies an abandoned helmet. The drawing is sketched with fine lines, capturing the intensity and movement of the scene.
