The image shows two figures working in a field. One figure, a man, is closer to the viewer, carrying a pitchfork or scythe. The other figure is sitting on a stack of hay in the distance, holding a tool. The background consists of rolling hills of hay with the sky dominating. The brushstrokes create a sense of texture in the clouds and hay. The color palette is monochromatic, using shades of gray to create depth. A group of birds flying in a V formation adds movement to the scene.
