The image shows a narrow street surrounded by tall buildings. At the end of the street is a building with a spire. The rooftops and the spire create an implied horizon against a softly textured sky. The scene is rendered in a style resembling watercolor or ink wash, with a monochrome color palette of black, white, and various shades of gray. Sparse figures can be seen on the street.
