Large sailboats are docked in a harbor. The sails and ropes create intersecting lines and shapes. In the distance, buildings are nestled below hills. The horizon is formed where the buildings and hills meet, running across the upper third of the image. The etching technique displays fine brushstrokes in a monochromatic sepia-toned palette. The masts and sails give energy to the composition.
