The image shows a low vantage point over the water with a large steamship at the center. The horizon is low in the composition, with the faint outline of a city's skyline in the background. The steamship has tall smokestacks billowing dark smoke, and the scene features detailed ink work with a monochromatic color palette. Sailboats are visible in the distance to the right, and reflections of the ship and watercraft shimmer on the water's surface.
