The image shows four figures with their full bodies visible. In the foreground, two women stand side by side; one on the left holds a goblet in her hands. Their facial features are depicted with delicate shading, and they both wear bonnets over their heads. The woman on the left is dressed in a long, flowing gown with a light shawl wrapped around her shoulders, while the woman on the right also wears a long gown, detailed with ruffles around the neckline. To their left, a third figure stands back, partly obscured by shadows, and a fourth figure—a young girl—descends a short set of steps from a doorway, dressed in a similar long dress with a bonnet. The background consists of archways and columns suggestive of historical or classical architecture. Tall grasses and sparse foliage fill the area around the steps and building, leading into an open landscape with a view of trees and distant fields or hills. The image is rendered in a sepia tone.
