The image shows the Queensboro Bridge from a close perspective, extending into the distance from the left corner. The horizon is implied by the bridge's receding line. The iron structure of the bridge dominates the left and top of the image, over the water below. A small boat with snow on its roof is on the water closest to us, with a larger boat emitting smoke underneath the bridge. The etching uses cross-hatched lines for depth and texture. The monochromatic color palette contrasts dark lines against a lighter background. Smoke stacks and distant buildings give an industrial feel, with fine lines suggesting a cold day.
