This is a painting of a composition with a large portrait and overlapping elements. The artwork features a figure in front of a green background with the numbers "1944" partially visible. The figure wears a yellow shirt with a red bow tie and has their hands on their hips. Surrounding this portrait are wooden plank shapes, giving a fragmented effect. In the background are two smaller figures painted in muted colors, partially obscured by a plank. Spanning across the elements is a length of barbed wire. The composition utilizes a flat, graphic style with a bold color palette, reminiscent of Roy Lichtenstein.
