The image depicts twisting trees dominating the scene. The horizon is low in the composition, where the tree trunks meet the ground. The brushstrokes emphasize the texture of the tree bark and branches. The color palette consists of muted browns and grays with hints of color suggesting light or lichen on the trunks. More trees are visible in the background, adding depth to the composition.
