The image shows a harbor scene with boats docked and their masts reaching up towards the sky. Buildings line the edge of the water, some with chimneys emitting smoke. The scene is depicted using an etching technique with detailed linework. The color palette is monochromatic in shades of black. A rowboat with a figure rowing is seen on the right edge of the image.
